Master course
7. June 2025

Welcome to the Master course of HB2025 Europe

Mastering Building Science and Ventilation

Unlock the potential of future indoor environments with Dr. Pawel Wargocki and Dr. Joseph Lstiburek at HB2025 this summer. Dive into the core of ventilation and building physics, and discover how these pivotal fields influence health, efficiency, and sustainability in built environments.

Why This Matters for You:

  • Learn Directly from Experts: Dr. Wargocki will reveal the latest in ventilation technology and its impact on indoor air quality. Dr. Lstiburek will explore the essentials of building physics for indoor air, durable and energy-efficient designs.

  • Network and Advance: Connect with pioneers and peers to expand your professional horizons.

Ventilation and IAQ

-What we know and should know about ventilation

This lecture will provide all information regarding ventilation, its role, its effects, prescribed rates, and measurements. All outcomes will be addressed, including comfort and well-being, health and infection, work performance and learning, and sleep quality.  The lecture will build on Wargocki (2020) and will also add the newest evidence on this topic.

Building Science/Building Physics

Building physics provides the knowledge to design and build durable, energy-efficient, affordable and healthy buildings.  Key factors are the control of heat, air, moisture and indoor air quality.  This knowledge is applied to enclosure design, HVAC systems, forensic investigations, and the repair and retrofit of exiisting buildings.
